Donner

In my freshman year, I worked on a number of different projects for my dorm, Donner.

Donner Collegiate Conference

The DCC was a series of challenges relating to the building in my freshman dorm. The idea was that students could record physical "speedruns," for example, running from one end of the dorm to the other. It was moderately successful.

Donner Bathrooms

This was a small survey that we added to restrooms within Donner to gauge student (dis)satisfaction with restroom cleanliness. It was the inspiration for my article "The Power of Wrapping Google Forms".

Donner Trash

What if you never had to take out the trash again? This was a small social experiment I launched... how much would people pay me to take out their trash once a week? I figured it could scale: if 20 people (in an 80 person dorm) signed up and each paid $2/week, I could make $40/week for maybe 20 minutes of work. Needless to say this never happened, but I do think the microeconomics of it are interesting.
