stanf.org

stanf.org is the umbrella domain for most of the projects I've created as a Stanford student. Some of the projects, like plan.stanf.org and seats.stanf.org, get their own writeups. But many of them are small, and therefore live here.
Fix Stanford Login

There is this annoying bug on the Stanford sign in form where, after submitting the form, the website technically lets you submit another request to sign in. This races with the redirect, sometimes leading you to end up on an error screen. Why Stanford hasn't fixed this is beyond me.
For my own convenience, I decided to fix it with a small Chrome extension. All it does is prevent the request from being made twice, therefore fixing the bad design. A simpler version of this could've disabled the submit button after the first request was sent. It got a lukewarm reception from the student body, but people do use it 🤷.
open.stanf.org

open.stanf.org was a very simple website I made my freshman year which displays which things are/aren't open on campus. The most fun part of this was the backend: some services (like our libraries) have live hours we can pull from an API, but most of the data is updated manually in a Google Sheet. The website auto-refreshes the data every minute (which had some interesting race / time conditions as well).
Class of '28

One of the first websites I built for Stanford students, created before I was technically a student. It was just a directory of students in the class of '28. It wasn't that popular—I did make some kinda fun business cards for it, though.
The most fun part of this project was learning about and attempting to adopt Stanford's web style guide, something I drifted further apart from as I became a stronger designer.
